Carpet Recycling

Starting May 24th 2021 Carpet Recycling Now Offered in Amador County

With more than 320 million pounds discarded each year, used carpet is one of the ten most prevalent waste materials in California landfills. But used carpet can be recycled at specific drop-off sites across California and made into useful new products.

ACES Waste Services is now offering Amador County the ability to recycle clean, properly prepared carpet at the Western Amador Recycling Facility located at 6500 Buena Vista Road, Ione.

The discounted gate rate of $92.25 per ton covers handling and proper storage.

By recycling used carpet, you are helping the community to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and reach zero waste goals.

A carpet stewardship law passed in 2010 aims to increase carpet recycling opportunities.

Post-consumer carpet is recycled by processors into fibers or plastic pellets, which can be used to make a broad range of products, including carpet, carpet tiles, carpet underlayment, and products for the automotive, transportation, and construction industries.

Visit the CARE website at https://carpetrecovery.org/california for more information.
